  • Ability to judge appropriate standards of ethical behaviour in professional work

Career Opportunities

Many of our graduates become corporate tax specialists; however, there are a wide range of other employment opportunities available for taxation or accounting specialists.

Many of our graduates who have specialized in taxation have been employed in private or public practice with organisations such as the Australian Taxation Office, the Federal Treasury or State Treasuries or the Office of State Revenue.

Other graduates that have specialised in Accounting (via the Accounting stream elective courses) have qualified for entry to the CPA Program and become a certified practicing accountant. Numerous other graduates have gone on to complete the CA Program and qualified as a chartered accountant.

The Accounting stream also meets the prescribed academic requirements for registration as a tax agent by the Tax Agents Board.

The Bachelor of Taxation will also count toward membership of other bodies such as the National Institute of Accountants (NIA), Australian Taxation Management Accountants (ATMA) and the Taxation Institute of Australia (TIA) - even if the full accounting stream is not followed.
