Master of Taxation

 

Program Details

The Master of Taxation degree is designed for the tax specialist, keen to gain a deeper knowledge and advance their career prospects.

The program aims to develop an advanced taxation knowledge base and advanced professional skills in taxation. It provides exposure to the more complex aspects of the discipline and a critical understanding of the Australian taxation system.

The Master of Taxation emphasises skills in research, analysis and sustained self-directed writing, including relevant skills in collecting and organising material.

 

Program Structure

In the Master of Taxation program, students must complete 8 courses (48 units of credit). One course, Tax Policy is compulsory. The other 7 courses are electives so students can choose to study areas of particular interest to them.

Professional Recognition

The Master of Taxation has been approved by CPA Australia for specialist taxation accreditation. Students who are members of CPA Australia, The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA), and qualified lawyers may have both Award and Non-Award study with Atax recognised towards their Continuing Professional Development (CPD), Continuing Professional Education (CPE) and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) membership requirements respectively.
