Master of Taxation and Financial Planning
Program Details The Master of Taxation and Financial Planning is a specialised program which examines the complex taxation, legal and business issues in the area of financial planning and personal wealth accumulation.
Designed for financial planners, accountants, lawyers and those wishing to move into this rapidly growing sector, the program features a multi-disciplinary approach to financial planning and personal wealth accumulation, enabling students to develop skills of analysis, problem solving and critical facilities.
The Master of Taxation and Financial Planning will meet the developmental requirements of financial planners and other professionals in the private and government sectors in Australia who operate in the financial planning and personal wealth accumulation markets.
Program Structure In the Master of Taxation and Financial Planning program, students must complete 8 courses (48 units of credit). Four courses are compulsory.
Students study the taxation courses through the Australian School of Taxation, law courses through the UNSW Law School and finance courses through the Australian School of Business.
The duration of the program is 1 year full time or 2 years part time.
Professional Recognition Students who are members of CPA Australia, The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA), and qualified lawyers may have both Award and Non-Award study with Atax recognised towards their Continuing Professional Development (CPD), Continuing Professional Education (CPE) and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) membership requirements respectively.
