Graduate Diploma in Taxation and Financial Planning

Program Details

The Graduate Diploma in Taxation and Financial Planning is a specialised program which examines the complex taxation, legal and business issues in the area of financial planning and personal wealth accumulation. The Graduate Diploma in Taxation and Financial Planning concentrates on advanced specialist professional training in taxation and features a more practical emphasis than the Master of Taxation and Financial Planning.

While broadly similar in objectives and course content to the Masters program, the Graduate Diploma in Taxation and Financial Planning requires students to undertake only six courses and generally require coursework assignments rather than undertaking the research and sustained writing of research papers in the Masters programs.

Program Structure

In the Graduate Diploma in Taxation and Financial Planning program, students must complete 6 courses (36 units of credit). Four courses are compulsory.

Students study the taxation courses through the Australian School of Taxation, law courses through the UNSW Law School and finance courses through the Australian School of Business.

The duration of the program is 1 year full time or 1.5 years part time.

A candidate may articulate from the Graduate Diploma in taxation and Financial Planning into the Master of Taxation and Financial Planning.
