Graduate Certificate in Taxation Studies

Program Details

The Graduate Certificate in Taxation Studies is open to students with an undergraduate degree in any discipline other than commerce, law or taxation. The program is designed to cover some core aspects of taxation, accounting, economics and law. It provides an opportunity for non-accounting graduates to study courses required to qualify for entry into either the CPA Australia or the ICAA programs.

Program Structure

Students must complete four courses (24 units of credit). The duration of study is 1.0 part-time year or 0.5 full-time years.

The Graduate Certificate in Taxation Studies consists of 4 courses.

Compulsory course:

• ATAX0100 Principles of Aust Tax Law  (6 UOC)

and any of the following 3 courses:

• ATAX0103 Microeconomics & Australian Tax System  (6 UOC)

• ATAX0104 Framework of Commercial Law  (6 UOC)

• ATAX0105 Accounting 1  (6 UOC)

• ATAX0106 Tax Administration  (6 UOC)

• ATAX0113 Taxation of Companies,Trusts & Partner  (6 UOC)

• ATAX0116 Critical Perspectives & Ethics  (6 UOC)

• ATAX0123 Principles of GST Law  (6 UOC)
