Continuing Education - An investment in your professional success!
Continuing education courses provide you with the opportunity to enhance or update your knowledge of tax. Practitioners in professionals such as accounting, tax or financial planning can capitalise on the knowledge they acquire in these courses to offer their clients or employers superior levels of service.
Continuing education students benefit from being challenged by academic study, however, they do not have the added pressure of having to submit assignments and sit examinations.
Continuing education courses are delivered by face to face evening classes (in Sydney's CBD), intensive 4-day classes or by flexible distance. Continuing education registrants join other Atax students who are enrolled in Atax degree programs or courses on a non-award basis.
Flexible distance students can study continuing education courses from anywhere across Australia. These courses are delivered in innovative ways and allow students to manage the competing priorities in their lives. Flexible distance courses feature comprehensive Course Materials, Audio Conferences, Regional Classes (1-day per semester/course).
Assumed knowledge
Participants will benefit from having an understanding of the basic principles of Australian or international taxation law before enrolling in these courses.
Professional accreditation
Participation in Atax Continuing Education courses can contribute towards Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for CPAs and Financial Planners, Continuing Professional Education (CPE) for Chartered Accountants and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) for lawyers. It is up to the individual practitioner to record and justify their investment of time in continuing education. Each face-to-face course has an allocated teaching time which should be recorded for compliance purposes. However, Members of professional organisations should keep comprehensive records of additional time they allocate to reading continuing education reference materials.
Format
Each course is conducted in either face to face, flexible distance or an intensive 4-day mode.
