Previous Positions
Robert (Bob) has over 23 years legal and tax experience. Immediately
prior to his appointment with Atax, he was a tax partner with
Mallesons Stephen Jaques. Previously, he was a Senior Lecturer
in Law at the University of Sydney.
Awards and Achievements
Bob is a past Chairman of the Australian branch of
the International Fiscal Association and a former Governor
on the Board of the Australian Tax Research Foundation. He
has acted as a consultant to the Thin Capitalisation Project
Team and an external referee for the Dividend Taxation and
Globalisation in Australia Project (Bureau of Industry Economics).

Summary of Publications
Bob has published widely, with articles and books in the area
of international tax and derivatives. He is co-author of the
standard reference Guidebook to Australian International Tax
(Legal Books, 2002), Australian Tax Handbook (2004) and Fundamental
Tax Legislation (2004). He has presented extensively at seminars
and conferences over a number of years.

Other
Bob is currently a Director with KPMG in an advisory capacity. Bob was a private sector representative on the Tax Law Improvement
Project and a member of the Tax Office’s Part
IVA and Public Rulings Panels. He has presented extensively
at seminars and conferences over a number of years. Bob is
on the Editorial Board of eJournal of Tax Research.
