Australasian Tax Teachers Association

Welcome to the home page of the Australasian Tax Teachers Association. We are a non-profit organisation, established in 1987, with the goal of improving the standard of tax teaching in educational institutions across Australasia.

Our members include tax academics, writers and administrators from Australia and New Zealand.  We are a friendly and supportive network of people who share a common interest in taxation.

The Association holds an annual conference at which members and invited speakers present papers on topical tax issues including policy, administration, legislation and recent cases.

Our patron is Mr Gordon Cooper AM. Gordon is an Adjunct Professor at Atax, UNSW, and a tax consultant in sole practice. He is regarded as a leading tax expert and author, particularly in respect of capital gains tax. Among his many numerous professional involvements, Gordon is a Governor of the Australian Tax Research Foundation, President of the Committee of the Australian Branch of the International Fiscal Association, and a former President of the Taxation Institute of Australia.
